Just Call Me Yuxuan

Computers are my biggest passion and have accompanied me throughout my life. I still remember my first computer, a giant IBM PC that my father bought when I was five. Like many teenagers, I primarily used the PC to play video games. But in the process, I was fascinated by what a computer could do. Therefore, in middle school, I began attempting to learn some basic coding in Java. As I entered college, I began considering coding and software engineering as my future career and started participating in multiple internships. After graduation, I went to Amazon as a full-time software engineer. In 2022, artificial intelligence quickly became one of the hottest topics in the industry, and I became motivated to learn more about AI and make my career future-proof. As such, I went to the Master's program at UIUC, where I am now.

Technology has permeated almost every facet of our lives. By being in tech, I have the potential to create solutions or products that can touch millions, if not billions, of lives. The scale at which I can make a difference is immense. Also, the rapid changes in the tech industry constantly expose me to new challenges, which helps me achieve professional growth. In this way, adaptability, problem-solving, and lifelong learning will become my second nature.

I like music, especially EDM. My favorite genres are Dubstep, Drum & Bass, Future House, and Techno. Recently, I've been listening to Sub Focus, a British Drum & Bass DJ. I really love the energy and passion in his songs, and my favorite track from him is Solar System.

As I mentioned above, video games are my hobby, too. My favorites are the Portal series and the Mass Effect trilogy. Occasionally, I play multiplayer games like Call of Duty and Rainbow Six with my friends. But I prefer video games that can tell a good story.
